In celebration of the 2011 turkey season, Alabama Black Belt Adventures recently announced the Black Belt Gobblers photo contest.
The winner of the photo contest will receive a $400 turkey call and decoy prize pack from Knight & Hale Game Calls and Carry-Lite Decoys absolutely free.
Pam Swanner, Project Manager for ALBBA, wants people to participate and show off their prize gobblers.
“Alabama’s Black Belt is the nation’s premier hunting destination and we want to showcase the region by doing another photo contest; this time for turkey season,” she said. “Our trophy deer contest earlier in the year featured 40 entries from hunters of all ages and more than 1,000 people went online and voted for their favorite photo.”
Swanner continued “We want to continue that momentum with turkey season and get even more people excited about what the Black Belt has to offer.”
Contest entries can be submitted by emailing a photo of a hunter with their prize gobbler, the hunter’s information, as well as the date and location of the hunt to patrick@patrickcagle.com by May 2 at 11:59 p.m.
Photos will be posted on the ALBBA Facebook fan page.
The winner will be chosen based on which photo receives the most “likes” from fans. Facebook users have until May 9 at 9 p.m. to vote for their favorite photo.
Contest rules are that photos must be of turkeys harvested in Alabama’s 23-county Black Belt region during the 2011 season.
For a list of counties visit alabamablackbeltadventures.com, there may be only one submission per person, and any hunter submitting a photo is granting ALBBA permission to use their photo for marketing purposes.
