Vaughan earns ‘Most Improved’ award from peers

Vaughan Regional Medical Center was recently recognized achieving the “Highest Overall Physician Satisfaction” award in the medium hospital category among hospitals nationally who participate with the Healthstream Research constituency survey company.
According to Merrill South, director of community relations for Vaughn Regional Medical Center, the hospital had to be at or above the 75 percentile rank from surveys taken by the physicians.
In addition, Vaughan is also recognized with the “Most Improved” award for Community Perception of Quality in the Community Satisfaction Survey compared to 1,100 healthcare facilities nationwide. A formal presentation of the award will be made during HealthStream’s customer Summit 2011 in May in Nashville, Tennessee.
“These awards of national recognition are simply an excellent reflection of the daily efforts that our employees, physicians, volunteers and board members are exhibiting everyday at Vaughan in providing exceptional and compassionate medical care to our patients and community members,” said Vaughan CEO Barry Keel.
Vaughan Regional was awarded these honors for making the commitment to measure and improve its brand and perception in the marketplace as well as its commitment to excellence in medical staff satisfaction. Measuring consumer perceptions of quality aids Vaughan Regional in understanding the relationship between the hospital, patients, and consumers by measuring all or a combination of top-of-mind awareness, perception of quality (image), hospital preference, hospital use, and customer loyalty. Hospitals that score high in these areas exhibit stronger levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
