About 13 teenage detainees at the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center received Christmas Thursday.
Anthony Moore and his staff at Great American Loans presented the detainees there a Wii. He also promised to purchase pizzas for the teens as a Christmas Eve surprise.
“We are blessed to be here,” Moore said, adding he gives thanks to God for putting him back in the community
Moore offered to help any of the individuals after their releases.
“Anyway I can put y’all on the right track, I’ll do it,” he said.
The gift allows students an opportunity to enjoy physical activity, said Marcus Hannah, the detention center’s director.
Dallas County Commissioner Roy Moore of District 1 said the facility “does all it can to see young people are rehabilitated to the to the point you never see this place again.”
Dallas County Probate Judge Kim Ballard said it is good for the county to have a facility where juveniles can obtain a second chance.
“This is what we call a hiccup in your life,” Ballard told the students gathered in the classroom at the facility. “Don’t let an instant in your life change your life except for the good.”
