Ricki Lynne Richardson Myers, 54, of New Orleans, LA passed into eternal rest on December 3, 2010. Educated in the New Orleans Public School System, she began her undergraduate education at Dillard University and received a B.S. in Education from Alabama State University (1977). Ricki Lynne had a distinguished career that included several positions and leadership roles in the Selma City School System, Tulane University, New Orleans Public School System, and the Louisiana State Department of Education. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Watts Richardson (Selma, AL) and Beryl Eloise Thornhill Richardson (New Orleans, LA), and her sister Toni Rochelle Richardson (New Orleans, LA). In addition to Stanley Myers, husband of 19 years, survivors include daughters, Richel Erin Denae Kinzy, Keelyn Frances Myers, as well as Ashley Myers-Bernal and Stanley Jevon Harrison; and grandchildren, Jayla, Jonas, Jacob, and Jevon, all of New Orleans; several other cousins, many friends and extended family. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 10, 2010 at 1:00pm at Central St. Matthew United Church of Christ, 1333 South Carrollton Ave., New Orleans, LA 70118, Rev. Cheryl Q. W. Cramer officiating. Remains will lie in state from 11am until the hour of service. She will be laid to rest on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Fairlawn Memory Garden in Selma, AL at 1:00pm.
