Despite the blowout, Keith High School (3-3) did not play the best game of the season, according to Harry Crum, head coach.
Neither team scored in the first quarter and in Keith’s first possession, they gave up three turnovers.
“We’ve got to minimize the turnovers,” Crum said.
But in the second quarter, Keith dominated the game with 24 points.
“We woke up and we exploded in the second quarter,” Crum said.
Rodney Ellis scored two rushing touchdowns from 40 yards and 75 yards, Jeremy Crum scored a 20-yard rushing touchdown, Lavarosis Robinson scored a 15-yard rushing touchdown and Raheem Velazquez scored a 20 –yard rushing touchdown.
Terrell Velazquez, Maurice Crumpton, Charles Johnson and Martavious Harris each scored a two-point conversion.
Keith will play John Essex at John Essex on Oct. 8.
Ellwood 62, Victory Millbrook 26
Ellwood Christian Academy (2-4) worked as a team Friday.
“That was the best we’ve played the whole year,” said Mike Stokes, head coach.
Robert Davis scored two rushing touchdown from a total of 36 yards, a touchdown from a 70-yard kickoff return and a two-point conversion. Octavious Cunningham scored took two interceptions in for touchdowns and rushed 150 yards for two touchdowns. Lativious Olds scored one 17-yard rushing touchdown and Keke Heard scored two touchdowns for a total of 100 yards rushing.
The team will take two weeks off from games before a matchup with New Life on Oct. 22.
“We’re going to hit the weight room hard and do some conditioning,” Stokes said.

Dallas County (2-4) will play Southside at home on Oct. 8. The team has won against Billingsley and Holt, but lost to Jemison, Bibb County and Greensboro.
Coosa Valley Academy 49, Meadowview Christian Academy 34
Meadowview Christian Academy (0-6) will play Cornerstone at home on Oct. 8. The team has lost to Sparta, Sumter, Dixie, EMCA, and Autauga. The team will face off Jackson, Abbeville and Chambers the remainder of the season.
