Ms. Joanne King Johnson

Ms. Joanne King Johnson, age 45, a native of Selma and a resident of Grove Hill was born November 15, 1964 to the parentage of the late Evans King and Ruby Mae Burroughs King. Joanne departed this life Sept. 23 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital.
She was baptized at an early age at Pure in Heart Baptist Church, Detroit, MI.
She later united with Orange Hill Baptist Church, where she remained a member until her demise.
Joanne, employed in the food service department of Exxon in Grove Hill, was a devoted mother who enjoyed being with family and friends.
She loved to make people laugh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Mitchell and Jenice King, and one brother, Evans King, Jr.
Forever cherishing her memories are: one daughter, Tanya (Joshua Johnson) King; one son, Tommie King; one granddaughter, Jalexia King, all of Grove Hill, AL; three sisters, Frances Watkins, Ella (Earnest) Gordon, Dale (Joseph) Dailey; one brother, Kable King, all of Selma, AL; one aunt, Bertha McElroy, Mobile, AL; one uncle, Vertice Burroughs, Grove Hill, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 30, 1 p.m. from the Orange Hill Baptist Church, Grove Hill; Rev. James Barron, Sr., pastor, Rev. Cory Pruitt, Eulogist. Viewing one hour prior to the service.
Following the interment in Orange Hill Cemetery, the family will receive friends in the
fellowship hall of the church.
