Lt.Col. Frank Lofton Donald, Jr. USAF (retired),born Febuary 27, 1930, in Selma Alabama, died September 4, 2010 in Pensacola,
Fl. Col. Donald, son of Frank and Eppie Donald (deceased), is survived by his wife, Mary Joe, a sister, Lyda Donald (Birmingham), former wife, Betty Diffly (Miramar Beach, Fl.) 3 children: Lt.Col. Blake Lofton Donald USAF (Jeri) Las Vegas, NV. Lynda Jones (Birmingham) Julie Kovach (Frank) Highlands, N.C., and 5 grandchildren: Chase Lofton Donald, Caitlyn Elizabeth Donald, Dylan ap Thomas Jones, Margaret Leigh Jones, and Davis ap Thomas Jones.
He graduated from Albert G. Parrish High, attended LSU until his appointment to the United States Military Academy, graduating in the class of 1955. He served our country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years. His tour of duty included 100 missions flown over North Vietnam in the RF-101 during the war. He received The Distinguished Flying Cross, The Air Force Commendation Medal and ten Air Medals.
He was buried with full military honors at the Barrancas National Cemetary in Pensacola, Florida on September 13, 2010.
