Gas prices drop statewide this week

The average retail cost of gas is down 4.1 cents per gallon from the past week, averaging $2.48 per gallon on Sunday, according to AlabamaGasPrices.com.
This compares with the national average which fell 1.2 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.69 per gallon on Sunday.
Prices Sunday in Alabama were 6.3 cents per gallon higher than the same day a year ago and 8.2 cents per gallon lower then a month ago.
The national average has decreased 5.8 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 9.4 cents per gallon higher than Sunday a year ago.
Some local gas prices in Selma reported at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 30:
