WCC to open new building Monday
Wallace Community College will celebrate the official opening of its new Health Sciences building Monday.
“It has state-of-the-art everything,” said Veronica Brown, director of LPN/NAS programs. “We have skills labs that are excellent, with all of the state-of-the-art equipment and diagnostic simulation models where we can actually simulate the hospital experience for students on site.”
The building also features computer labs, study rooms, a break area, crash carts, classrooms with accommodations for 50 to 100 students and space for all administrative offices.
“We have everything we need to prepare students to be proficient health care providers,” Brown said.
The facility has allowed the nursing programs to double enrollment.
“We are exited about this facility because it gives us a chance to expand our programs,” Johnny Moss, director of office of marketing and college relations.
The public is invited to the ceremony at 11 a.m. Reception and tours of the facility will be available until 1 p.m.
