Drug arrests made

Early morning raids of selected residences have resulted in the arrest of three suspects charged with possession of drugs.

On Friday, authorities arrested Ryan Murphy, 22; Richard Dudley, 31 and tony Gardner, 32. All were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, first degree.

Selma Police Department Administrative Division Commander Sgt. Doug Stewart said the arrests were the results of the police department’s narcotics unit surveillance of drug activity during the last few weeks.

On Friday, Selma officers conducted early morning raids with members of the Marengo County Sheriff’s Department, Lowndes County 2nd Judicial Task Force, Dallas County 4th Judicial Task Force, Demopolis Police Department Swat Team and the Alabama Beverage Control Board.

The bond for Murphy and Dudley was set at $200,000 each.

Gardner’s bond was set at $430,000. Officers also recovered weapons in Gardner’s immediate location.
