Floyd “Buddy” Gant, Jr., age 74, passed away May 28, 2010.
Buddy proudly served his country for two and a half years in the Army during the Korean War.
Preceding Buddy in death were his parents, Floyd and Doshie Gant; son, Trey Gant step-grandson Caleb.
He is survived by his wife, Shelia Gant; step-son Thomas Hodgson; daughter, Lisa Jane (Bobby) Burroughs; step-daughters, Allison Renee (Adam) Jennings, Angela (Billy) Necaise, Mary Stanley; brother, Pete (June) Gant; sister, Sally (J.W.) Bates; granddaughter, Julia Breanna Burroughs; step-grandchildren, Olivia, Justin, Sydna, Megan, Morgan, Leah, Clifford, Jessica and John.
Visitation was Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Sulphur Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Samantha, AL 21137 Old Jasper Rd. Northport, AL with Brother Rick Taylor officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Jennings, Adam Wadsworth, Randy Keene, Bobby Burroughs, Pete Gant and Donnie Keene.
