SELMA — Six candidates have been interviewed for the open football coaching position at Selma High School, but no offers have been made.
Patrick Evans, Selma High School athletic director, said the job has drawn interest from candidates both locally and out of state, but he is still searching.
“We’re trying to find someone who has the right coaching philosophy and experience and willing to dedicate themselves year-round,” Evans said. “They also need to have the right teaching certification.”
Evans said Foster Davis resigned from the position but agreed to finish out his contract, and is currently helping the team with its offseason program.
Foster coached the Saints for two seasons. The Saints were 3-7 last season.
Repeated calls to Davis’ cell phone went unanswered.
Dr. Austin Obasohan, superintendent of Selma City School said Evans has made some recommendations and they will be considered Wednesday.
