PLANTERSVILLE — Dallas County High School has two question marks entering today’s spring game with Verbena, and it’s two of the most important positions.

“We’ve got to establish a starter at tailback and quarterback is a big question mark,” DCHS head coach Darryl Burns said, “We have three or four guys who can play running back so that’s a positive.”

Tevin Hunt and dale Thomas will be in the midst of the battle in the backfield. Brnadon Harvell was pinpointed by Burns as being the best pure runner, but his talent is needed more at wide receiver.

Burns said the Hornets will call more running plays than normal to get a sense of where they stand.

At quarterback, the Hornets will be without Justin Moore, who was injured when he took a line drive to the face during the baseball playoffs.

The format of tonight’s game will be six eight-minute periods with one team having possession the entire time.

The secong string is expected to play the latter two periods.
