Morgan finishes fifth

SELMA — Coal Brown followed his first-day 82 with a 77 and got into the top 10 for individual players at the AISA state championship golf tournament at Selma Country Club.

But his Morgan Academy team was unable to climb up the standings and finished fifth.

Ford Manderson, who was tied for 10th entering the second round, shot a 90 — 10 strokes more than Monday.

“My putting was off,” Manderson said. “I played pretty good. I shot 80 (Monday) so I was hoping for 165 or 160.”
