Evelyn Maxine Chambers Sims age 85, passed away Monday April 12, 2010 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Nolin Chambers, Milton Chambers, Weaver Chambers, James Chambers and Rodney Chambers; sisters, Martha Dean Chambers and Polly Baker.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Henry Jerome Sims, Sr.; son, Jerry (Mary Ann) Sims; daughter, Tina (Ira) Blanchard; brothers, Roy Chambers and Ray Chambers; sister, Darlene Hearn; grandchildren, Brad Latham, Joshua Latham, Rebecca Latham, Lindy (Kyle) Bengtson and Taylor Sims; great-grandchildren, Bailee
Bengtson and Abby Bengtson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday April 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Guy Anderson, Rev. Ira Blanchard and Jack Frost officiating.
The family will receive friends 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, 1800 West Dallas Avenue, Selma, Alabama 36701.
The family would like to thank Asera Care Hospice for the care they provided during a special time of her life.
They would also like to thank Mary Shelton for being a special care giver for several years.
A special thank you goes to the Bracelle Drive and Old Orrville Road neighbors who were always willing to help and provide support to the family.
