Bicycle incident leads to arrest of four

Selma Police officers have arrested four male juveniles on charges connected with an incident over a bicycle.
A 16-year-old male complained he was riding his bike in the 400 block of Lawrence Street and was approached by three black males who forcibly took the bicycle from him at about 5 p.m. March 27.
Selma police Det. Beauty Benjamin investigated the crime, which led to the arrest of three male juveniles for robbery, second degree.
A fourth juvenile was arrested for harassment of the victim at a local school, according to Sgt. Doug Stewart, the police department’s administrative division commander.
Stewart said all offenders were sent to juvenile detention for 72 hours and are scheduled for a hearing on April 6.
