The public again has an opportunity to discuss with a panel of experts the exterior of the proposed new Selma High School Building.
Today’s meeting is scheduled for 6 until 7:30 p.m. at J.A. Pickard Auditorium. The panelists will include Dr. Austin Obasohan, superintendent of Selma City Schools; Ray Mathiews, director of operations and administrative services for Selma City Schools; Wanda Lomax McCall, principal, Selma High; Woodie Jackson, assistant principal and head boys basketball coach, Selma High; Patrick Evans, athletic director for Selma City Schools; representatives from Volkert & Associates, the construction management company and representatives from Goodwyn, Mills, & Caywood, the architectural firm.
When the Selma School Board hired him about a year ago, Obasohan promised transparency in the school system. He promised the people would have an opportunity to speak their preferences.
He has kept those promises.
Today’s town hall meeting is an example of what Obasohan has done and continues to do to bring community together with many different ideas geared toward a single purpose.
Other school districts, governmental bodies could take their lead from Obasohan’s style of governance.
Now the doors are open. The public should attend this very important meeting.
