Snow is possible

A winter storm watch is in effect for the Black Belt area from late Thursday night through Friday afternoon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Birmingham say snow will begin falling in the Demopolis-Livingston area around midnight Thursday. The weather system will move eastward and affect Dallas County by 1 a.m.

Forecasters expect the snow to begin tapering off late Friday afternoon.

The prediction is for 1 to 3 inches in the Black Belt.

A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant snow accumulation that may impact travel.

No closings or cancellations have been announced at this time.
