Elizabeth Cruise Whittle died Wednesday, February 03, 2010 at John Knox Nursing Home in Montgomery, Al where she had resided for the past two years.
Services will be held on Saturday Feb. 6, 2010 at Trinity Presbyterian Church at 2:00 P.M. with Leak-Memory Funeral Home directing and The Reverend Michael Howell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Westminister Room.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Herbert Whittle and her son-in-law, Bill McDaniel. She is survived by her daughters Peggy Bruce Whittle McDaniel, Andrea Whittle Livingston (Edward), and Kathy Whittle Sparkman (Greg), grandchildren, Holley Trivett, Laurie Berry (Mark), Tanner Livingston (Martha Ann), John Livingston, Callie Williams (Austin), Lauren Sparkman and seven great grandchildren.
She was born on Feb. 13, 1919 in Lexington, Ky. She graduated from the University of Kentucky and later moved to Hayneville, Al to teach school and met and married Walter Herbert Whittle. They moved to Montgomery in 1951 where she taught in the Montgomery Public School System for 20 years. she was active in Trinity Presbyterian Church for many years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund at Trinity Presbyterian church or to Knox Nursing Home where she received loving care.
