ORRVILLE — The Keith Lady Bears are working hard in preparation for their upcoming area tournament in Uniontown.
The Bears are looking to improve on a sub-par season to advance through to the next round of the state tournament.
“We are coming along pretty well,” said girls coach Cecil Williams. “We are working on correcting some mistakes that we have been making.”
The girls will take on the second-seeded St. Jude Educational Institute in next Thursday’s match-up.
The Bears will need to limit the mistakes that have plagued them all season if they want to be able to take down St. Jude for the first time this season.
“We need to be able to finish games because that is what has been giving us trouble,” said Williams
The area tournament is a new season and if the girls want to move on the chance is there to do so.
“I let these girls know that if they lose, their season will be over,” Williams said. “We don’t want to go home yet, so we need to be able to put it all on the line.”
Keith and St. Jude will be the first game next Thursday and will play at 5:30 p.m.
The host R.C. Hatch will take on Francis Marion at 7 p.m. and the area final will be Saturday at 6 p.m.
