SELMA – Police responded to a call of a 1-year-old child left alone in a home in the 500 block of Medical Center Parkway Monday morning.

Officers arrived at the home after the 6:24 a.m. call and found the door to be unlocked. They called to see if anyone was home, but did not obtain an answer.

Officer went inside the home and found the child asleep on a bed. They did not find any other person in the home.

Catherine Denise Harris arrived at the home and said she left her residence to drop her other children off at school.

Police arrested and charged Harris with endangering the welfare of a child. She was placed in the Dallas County Jail under a $500 bond. Harris made bond and was released.
