Panthers win in OT
The Southside boys basketball team (5-7) won over Dallas County in overtime 68-67.
The score after the end of regulation time was 59-59.
Michael Blevins scored 18 points, Terence Cooper scored 14 points and seven assists, Mario Oliver has 11 points and Quintin Gunn scored nine points for Southside.
“They grew up tonight,” said head coach Cedric Brown. “The one game that really counted most was this because it was an area game.”
Previously, the team has lost several close games, but was able to pull out a win over Dallas County on Tuesday.
The team will play next in the Calhoun tournament on Friday.
