SELMA — Visit the 31st annual Holiday House at the Performing Arts Center until Dec. 19 to purchase locally crafted gifts for friends and family members.
“We’d really like everyone to come out to the Holiday House,” said Jo Hise, member of the board of directors.
A percentage of the profits will benefit the Old Selma Depot Museum, which highlights the history of Selma and Dallas County.
Elise Blackwell, member of the board of directors, started this event while she worked with the Chamber of Commerce 31 years ago.
“This was created as a Christmas gift to the community,” Blackwell said. “It gives crafts people a place to clear their inventory at the end of the year, and it gives people a chance to buy great local crafts.”
Registration for the historic Preservation Society will also be available. Each person to join will receive an entry in a drawing for a gift basket of items from local businesses, valued at $1,400.
“Everyone please do your Christmas shopping at the Holiday House,” Hise said. “We’re here to serve you and wish you a Merry Christmas.”
Holiday House is open now through Dec. 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
