I was very elated to hear Mr. Roderick West is a candidate for the Selma City School Board’s election. Mr. West has always had an interest in our children and their future.

I worked with Mr. West for several years in the Perry County School System, where I have observed his experience as an educator and his concern for our children. Also, he maintained a classroom that was conducive for learning.

Our relationship extended beyond the Perry County School System when he started coaching my son in football and baseball summer athletic programs for the City of Selma.

Undoubtedly, he had a great impact on my son’s athletic career, because he is playing football and baseball for the Selma High School Saints.

Mr. West showed great enthusiasm for the game, but emphasized good sportsmanship. He was and still is a positive role model for my son and the other team members. Obviously, Mr. West is the prime candidate for this position because of his dedication and high expectations for our biggest investment, which is our children.
