Selma boys post win over Chilton County
The Selma Saints took their first area win in boys basketball Tuesday night by defeating Chilton County 67-52.
“They played outstanding,” said boys coach Woodie Jackson.
Dupree Rivers lead team scoring with 20 points, six rebounds and four assists. Charles Eaton had 14 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Malcolm Riley racked up 14 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Kerry Mitchell had six points and eight rebounds.
Blocking out and getting the rebounds “is what really won the game for us,” Jackson said.
Leading scorers for Chilton County were Josh Williams with 12 points and Kern Grantland with 10 points.
Selma (6-1) travels to Dallas County High Friday for the second match-up this season. The two teams met for the first time during the Thanksgiving Tournament. Selma won that match.
“It’ll be tough when we go,” Jackson said.
