CCA plays Morgan for title

SELMA — Central Christian Academy’s boys team defeated Hooper Academy 60-47 Monday to advance to today’s championship game with Morgan Academy in the CCA tournament.
The championship will be one of four games Tuesday. Morgan and CCA meet at 8 p.m. for the title.
In the earlier games, the CCA girls take on Morgan in the consolation game at 3:30 p.m., followed by the Bessemer-Hooper boys’ consolation game at 5 p.m., then the Bessemer-Hooper girls’ championship at 6:30 p.m.
Pierre Coleman led the CCA Warriors over Hooper with 14 points. Wesley Bell and Darius Barlow each had 13 points, and Bryant Rawls followed with 10 points.
The victory pushed Central Christian Academy’s record to 3-1.
For Hooper, Garrett Smith was leading scorer with 11 points, then came Garvin Monroe with 10 points.
