Selma girls win two games in tourney

HUNTSVILLE — Selma High’s girls basketball team won two of three games this weekend in the Bob Jones Tipoff Tournament in Huntsville.
The Lady Saints lost the first game Friday to Spain Park 43-41. On Saturday, Selma defeated Smith Station 64-37 and Buckhorn 57-49.
In the Spain Park game, Keisha Moore led scorers with 30 points, while top rebounders were Jameneshia Caver and Breamma Smith with 10 apiece.
Moore had 27 points against Smith Station and 26 against Buckhorn.
Smith had 16 points and 10 rebounds against Smith Staton and 10 points against Buckhorn.
OCaver added nine rebounds against Smith Station, and had a double-double (13 points and 13 rebounds) against Buckhorn.
The weekend games left Selmaz 3-2 on the year going into the regular-season opener at home against Keith on Friday.
