Mike Stokes is new Selma fire chief

SELMA — Mike Stokes has become the new interim fire chief for Selma.
Before his appointment by Mayor George Evans Tuesday, Stokes had served as battalion chief in Selma. He is a 19-year veteran of the city fire department.
Stokes is a Selma High School graduate, received his associate’s from Wallace Community College and has attended Livingston University.
He is a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
He is married to Michele and they have a son, Ryan Michael Stokes.
