SELMA — Wal-Mart here will have new hours beginning Nov. 1.
The 24-hour store will close at midnight and open at 6 a.m. each day.
The store has notified the public by posting a yellow sign on all entrances.
“This is strictly a business deal,” said Anna Taylor, spokeswoman for Wal-Mart. “Based on the customer shopping patterns we believe we can meet customer shopping schedules. We are always evaluating our business model and we believe this will help offer a faster, friendlier shopping experience during our hours of peak shopping.”
This change in hours of operation is specific to Selma. Many stores nationally will continue to operate 24 hours.
Taylor said some Montgomery stores had opted to close at 11 p.m.
Selma’s Wal-Mart is located on Highland Avenue.
