But is Kennedy The Perfect Catch?

You, dear readers, have the opportunity to decide.

“The Perfect Catch,’ is modeled after the popular ‘Bachelor’ television show,” said Times-Journal advertising director Erica Slone. “Readers will be asked to choose ‘Dallas County’s most eligible bachelor.’”

Prospective contestants can apply through our Web site, www.selmatimesjournal.com. Entrants will be asked to answer a questionnaire about their physical fitness, careers and personalities, Slone said.

“We are allowing third-party nominations, sensing that men would be shy about nominating themselves,” she said. “We will stipulate that we have to get permission before publishing anyone’s bio and/or photo.”

Slone said there is only one rule for contestants: “You cannot be married!”

Contestants’ photos and bios will be published in a special section in The Selma Times – Journal with the contestants’ photos and bios along with a video interview that will be placed on selmatimesjournal.com. Readers will be able to cast their vote for the best bachelor via the Web site.

The top five contestants will be honored with an invitation-only party at the St. James Hotel where the winner will be announced. The winner will receive a prize package from participating advertisers along with dinner for two at the St. James Hotel.
