Lowndes wins shutout

LOWNDESBORO — The No. 8-ranked Lowndes Academy Rebels rolled over Autauga 41-0 Thursday night in AISA football action.

Lowndes (4-1), got outstanding defensive performance from Christian Kilpratick with eight tackles, six solos and one interception returned for a touchdown.

Other leaders on defense were Grant Nall with eight tackles and a fumble recovery. Jordan Grant contributed four tackles.

Tyler Bozeman collected seven solo tackles, seven assists and a fumble recovery.

On offense, Brandon Pate carred the ball 16 times for 154 yards and a touchdown.

Bozeman, also a senior running back, had 15 totes for three touchdowns — scores of 3 and 19 yards along with a 21-yard pass reception. Chance Ward added a 51-yard touchdown catch.

Quarterback Anderson Casey started the game 4-for-4 passing, but ended up 4-for-11 for 103 yards and no interceptions.

Two of Casey’s four receptions went for scores.

The Rebels’ defense dominated the game, allowing only five first downs.
