Cassie Lee Evans, 81, of Selma, AL passed away August 19, 2009 at Park Place Nursing Home, Selma, AL. She was the daughter of the late Doc Evans and Catherine Hall. Ms. Evans confessed Christ at an early age and joined the New Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Tyler, AL where she also attended school.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jonathan “Jerry” Evans.
She leaves to cherish her memory seven loving children, Lola (Benjamin) Hale, Catherine Richardson, Elizabeth Evans, Darnell Evans, Cassie (Donald) Richardson, Ray Charles Evans, and Aaron Evans, all of Selma, AL, Dwight (Sherry) Evans of Birmingham, AL; twenty-four grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, cousins, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Sun-day, August 23, 2009 at 1:00pm at Second Baptist Church, 2809 Hardie Avenue, with Rev. Daryl Moor as Pastor and Rev. John Smith officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Home.
