Rhonda Abbott of the Dallas County Emergency Management Agency has released a weather statement from the National Weather Service in Birmingham, saying strong to severe thunderstorms are possible through 10 p.m.

These storms will be limited to areas south of Interstate 59 with the best potential along and south of the Interstate 85 and U.S. Highway 80 corridor.

A few thunderstorms will be capable of producing wind gusts of 40 to 60 mph, brief heavy rain and pea-to-penny size hail.
