Are we taking God out of the country?

For the past six months I have been concerned about the change that appears to be happening in America.

Actually, the change started and has been happening for more years than I care to think about. I can’t remember the date when we were told to “take God out of the classroom.” If we are not careful, an attempt will be made to “take God out of our country.”

Our president has selected a group of people and given the title of czar. Notice they were not elected; they were selected. They hold their office at the bidding of our president and are answerable to him alone.

I have learned from people who have taken the time and trouble to investigate the background of these czars and the one thing that they have in common is that at some time in the past they have become involved in communist activities. I must admit that I don’t know much about communism, but what I have learned is that communists have little or no room for God in their lives. Can you imagine a day when you go to your church, only to find it in ruins? Or that you might have to meet in secret at a friend’s house to be with Christian friends?

When Russia became a communist country that is what happened to the people there. They were no longer free to worship as they pleased. It didn’t happen right away. Hopefully, if that sort of change happens here in America, I will have left this world.

However, for those of you who think it will never happen here, take a moment to imagine what you would do without God.

Is it worth taking a chance on change?

Sincerely

Myra Waddell
