W.D. “Cotton” Nichols age 80 of Selma, passed away on Saturday August 1, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Monday August 3, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Bro. Randy deBrandt officiating
Cotton is preceded in death by his father, Roy H. Nichols, his mother, Roxie M. Nichols, and a sister, Jeanette Freine.
Cotton is survived by his wife , Helen Hicks Nichols, his son, Ken Nichols (Sandy) of Thorsby, AL, his daughter, Jerri Sheehan (Randy) of Selma, his five grandchildren, David Nichols (Suzie), Kristi Wyatt (Robby), Justin Nichols (Allyson), Ashley Smith, John Sheehan, his 4 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Juanita Holland and Martha Vogler.
Pallbearers will be David Nichols, Justin Nichols, John Sheehan, Robby Wyatt, Roy Freine, and Randy Pugh.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Dallas County Sherriff’s Department and The City of Selma Police Department.
The family will receive friends on Sunday August 2, 2009 at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
