Bank broken into

The scene was all too familiar to officers Tuesday night. An area bank had been broken into by a person who broke a window.
The scenario happened just last Thursday morning at 12:35 a.m. in the 400 block of Broad Street. Fast-forward to Tuesday and the same thing happened to First Cahawba Bank.
Authorities said a person attempted to break the drive-thru window at the bank, but quickly realized it was bullet proof glass.
Next the burglar moved to an office window where the person broke into the bank. Once again the focus was on a cashier’s till.
At the burglary Thursday the perpetrator pried open the cash drawer and made off with an unidentified amount of money.
Police are still looking into both cases and stated they would release more information at a further time.
Repeated calls to Kelly Jones, president of First Cahawba Bank, were not returned.
