Sex offenders live among us. That’s a fact of life.

Sometimes we become immune to the fact.

We need to remain vigilant, but not to the point of taking the law in our own hands.

We need to make ourselves familiar with the laws regarding sex offenders and where they live.

If a registered sex offender lives in our neighborhood, we need to watch carefully. This is important for our children and our piece of mind.

During the next week, The Selma Times-Journal will share information about registered sex offenders in Dallas County and Selma.

This is not meant to persecute anyone; only to raise awareness among those who might not know who lives in their neighborhood.
