Sister Bessie Mae Rembert Thompson died June 28, 2009. Services are scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Elbethel Missionary Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Joe J. Peterson. Burial will follow in Summerfield Community Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.
Bessie Mae worked many years at Holiday Inn and Tally Ho as a cook. She was the mother of many. She will be lovingly remembered by her two stepdaughters: Adeia James and Barbara Whitker; one brother, David Rembert; three sisters: Lillie June Rembert, Dorothy (Willie) Neely, Betty Rembert all of Selma, AL; two brothers-in-law; Thomas Walter Sr. of Cleveland, OH; two sisters-in-law: Louise Thompson and Annie Lois Thompson and a host of nephews and nieces. A very special nephew: Jessie Rembert and special niece: Annie Jean Blevins.
