BIRMINGHAM — Joey Ceci of Main Street Strategies, Huntsville, and David Mowery of Mowery Consulting Group LLC, Montomgery, have joined Artur Davis’ gubernatorial campaign.

Ceci got his start in politics managing Tim Morgan’s successful campaign for Madison County district attorney in 1992 defeating a Republican incumbent. In 1994 he served as campaign manager for Congressman Bud Cramer’s reelection campaign — a role he kept in Cramer’s 1996 and 1998 campaigns.

Since forming Main Street Strategies, Ceci has advised several local and municipal campaigns, including Parker Griffith’s election to the state Senate in 2006, and he served as Griffith’s campaign manager in his successful race for Congress in 2008.

Prior to founding Mowery Consulting Group LLC in 2009, David Mowery managed the successful 2008 congressional campaign of then-Montgomery Mayor Bobby Bright, electing a Democrat to the 2nd Congressional District for the first time since 1964.

Following his win, Mowery managed County Commission Chairman Todd Strange’s campaign for Mayor of Montgomery, winning a six-person race without a runoff.  Previously, Mowery helped elect the first African-American Mayor of Mobile, Mayor Sam Jones and Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson.
