Smedley selected as Selma-Dallas County Chamber of Commerce

Sheryl Smedley has been selected as director of the Selma-Dallas County Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber chairman of the board Jim Truax made the announcement, saying Smedley will assume her duties in a few weeks.
Smedley comes to the chamber from Regions Bank’s main branch in downtown Selma. She is the assistant branch manager and has 16 years experience with Regions Bank.
“Sheryl is widely known in the community for her dedication to consumer service and her love of our community,” Truax said. “We look forward to the chamber moving forward under Sheryl’s leadership.”
Those serving on the search committee included Dennis Palmer, chairman; Bill Ezell, Catesby ap R. Jones, Gail Lovelady, Dr. Tomeko McPhillips, Paul Robertson and Wayne Vardaman, executive director of the Selma-Dallas County Economic Development Authority.
The committee received more than 30 applications for the position and narrowed the pool to seven candidates for interviews.
