Alabama Cooperative Extension System is currently offering free seminars on estate planning. Many people may not know what estate planning is or why it is important. Estate planning is important for individuals who wish to have some control over transferring property before and after death.
With proper planning, families can avoid many of the problems associated with dividing a family member’s assets.
If you are interested in learning more about wills, trusts, probate and other estate planning topics, plan to attend the free seminar on Thursday, May 21 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Dallas County Extension Office, 429 Lauderdale Street, Selma.
Estate planning attorney and Auburn University Associate Professor Robert Tufts will present information and answer questions through distance learning on legal topics. Call the Dallas County Extension office at 875-3200 to pre-register for the seminar. For more information, call Sharon Gilbert, Regional Extension Agent at 205-310-0698 or e-mail gilbese@aces.edu.
