A group of properties were recently classified as “dangerous buildings” or a “nuisance” within the meaning of the city’s ordinance.

Darryl Moore, Selma code enforcement officer, recently presented the list of properties to the Selma City Council, which approved a resolution officially listing them as dangerous or a nuisance. That designation means City Clerk Ivy Harrison sent each person listed a certified letter telling them the property has been listed as dangerous or a nuisance.

Moore said the property owners have 31 days in which to rectify the condition or the property or demolish the structure. They can contest the findings by appealing to the Board of Adjustment within 30 days.

The properties and their owners are:
