Martha Walker Chandler, age 65, of Plantersville, AL, passed away March 18, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. T. Chandler; grandson, John Thomas Chandler, IV and sisters, Billie Sioma and Frances Walker.
Surviving are her sons, John T. Chandler, III, James Chandler, Jeremy Chandler and Joe (Margaret) Chandler; daughter, Dianne (Randle) Hindman; sisters, Betty (John) Motes; seven grandchildren, Lamar (Wendy) Burton, Randy (Susan) Burton, Michelle Burtin, Dale Chandler, Ashley (Rudy) Chandler, Jocqueline Poyner and Shirley Poyner; ten great-grandchildren, Chelsey Abbott, Caitlin Burton, Tyler Batten, Dakota Chandler, Christopher Chandler, Jaci Hill, Hannah Hill, Erica Poyner, Travis Poyner and Cullen Poyner and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Knox officiating. Interment will be in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, March 21, 2009 from 6-8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Randy Burton, Lamar Burton, Dale Chandler, Greg Horton, Joey Thompson, Robi Hughs and Colby Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be City of Selma Firefighters.
