Louisa Whitt Lockett, 93, of Selma, Alabama died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at her home. Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 11:00am at St. Chapter Primitive Baptist officiated by Rev. Claude Cole. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Service. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Willie Lockett, Sr.; her parents; one son, Willie Lockett, Jr.; two sisters; and one brother-in-law. Survivors include two sons, Jake Lockett of Selma, Alabama and Johnny (Cynthia) Lockett of Birmingham, Alabama; four daughters, Rosie Lee Murphy of Birmingham, Alabama, Buelah (Johnny) Watts of Birmingham, Alabama, Ruth Wesley of Selma, Alabama, and Missouri Lockett of Selma, Alabama; twenty grandchildren; one honorary grandson, Charles Myers of Uniontown, Alabama; twenty-four great grandchildren; seventeen great-great grandchildren; one son-in-law; four nieces; and one nephew.
