Residents should take responsibility for neighborhoods

In response to the lady’s letter “Trash looks bad to tourist,” living in the Ice House/Old Town district that I love, we see first hand the litter.

It’s not just litter, it’s abandoned buildings, overgrown lots, and whatever people want to put on the street (mattresses, toilets, etc.). I’ve always felt that the city should

take a serious role in how our city looks. It is always the first indicator of what shape a city is in.

It is, of course, up to everyone to help do their part, not just their property but surrounding properties and streets. It is a monster problem but not impossible to fight.
