Dear editor,

What a great shot of DeAngelo Norris in the paper [Tuesday]! I would just like to congratulate DeeLo and Wendell Lewis on such a good game and Coach Jackson for his great year at Selma High and to the whole team for their teamwork and sportsmanship. DeeLo and Wendell are the only two members I know on the team, having met them when my husband, Bracken Ingram coached them. DeeLo was on the first basketball team at the YMCA Bracken coached when we moved to Selma. DeeLo and our son Will were in the fifth grade then!!! Then Bracken coached both Wendell and DeAngelo (DeeLo) in baseball for several years at the Sports Complex and in Dixie Youth. Two fine atheletes and talented young men he always said. And now they and many others are comprising the Class of 2009. And Coach Jackson taught at Francis Marion with our daughter Carrie her first year out of college. Selma is glad to have you, Coach. Small world and flying time!

Class of 2009, look for the good in life and remember those who influenced you for good. There are plans for you out there laid by the one who made you. Honor him in all you do.
