Mary Helen Smith Strother, age 71, a native of Tupelo, MS and long-time resident of Camden, AL passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2009 Helen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and loved her family dearly. She was a member of the Camden Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) Church. Survivors include her husband, John Haas Strother; three children, John Haas Strother, Jr. (Alyson), Selma, AL; her daughters, Miller Strother Douglas (Paul), Memphis, TN; Dulcy Mills, Atlanta, GA; 6 grand-children, McKenzie and Liz Strother, Selma; John Paul and William Douglas, Memphis; Brianna and Iris Mills, Atlanta; her mother, Elmer Witcher and brother, Ray Smith, both of Tupelo, MS; a sister, Libby Faulkner (Billy), Myrtle Beach, SC; and brother, Mitch Witcher (Barbara), Amory, MS. She was preceded in death by her father Albert Smith. The funeral service will be held at the Camden ARP Church, Broad Street, Camden, AL on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Henry Lewis Smith officiating and interment will be in the Camden Cemetery. Following the graveside service, the family will receive friends and relatives at the ARP Church education annex.
