Gladys Ester Crawford Griffin, age 84, of Selma passed away at Cherry Hill Nursing Home in Birmingham, Alabama. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 31, 2009 at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery with Rev. Donnie Lynn officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Ms. Griffin is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Griffin, her son, Dwight Griffin, her mother and father, four sisters, and four brothers.
Ms. Griffin is survived by her daughter, Doris Broadhead, grandchildren, Johnny Nash, Blake Griffin, Dewayne Miley, and Donald Miley, eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Bobby Crawford, and her sisters, Catherine Horton, Viva Baldwin, Margaret Wilson, and Betty Nichols.
Pallbearers will be Paul Smitherman, Matt Smitherman, Roger Campbell, Bruce Crawford, Ronnie Smitherman, and Sonny Campbell. Visitation will be held on Friday January 30, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church.
The family welcomes friends and guests to visit with them before the service at the home of Debbie Smitherman, 515 County Road 283 Selma.
