Montgomery attorney and Hoover native Patti Powell has been named director of state lands at the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
Powell will oversee activities relating to all state-owned lands, including administering various leases and land management practices to generate revenue for the respective trusts.
In a statement, Conservation Commissioner Barnett Lawley said his department is happy to have someone with Powell’s background and experience as lands director.
Powell succeeds James H. Griggs, who retired in December.
