Ragland, James Denver, Sr., age 81 passed away January 20th, 2009. He was born October 11, 1921 in Bibb County and Graduated from high school in Selma. He was a Delta Chi at the University of Alabama, where he graduated with a business degree in 1951. He also served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his four children, Dr. Denis Shaw, Shirley Kincaid, Denny Ragland (Susan) and Renee Bishop (Ron) and his two sisters, Lela Pepper and Venoa Daniels. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Alacare, especially Sharon and Leneitha.
The Graveside service was held at Friendship Cemetery in Bibb County on Friday, January 23rd at 1:30 PM. Services are under the direction of Ridout’s Valley Chapel (205.879.3401.) in Homewood.
